ROCKAWAY TOWNSHIP, NJ
February 27, 2003 - Rockaway Township, NJ- Boonton Township Fire Chief Bill Klingenger
leads an entry team of Rockaway Twp. firefighters into the side door of an outbuilding that was
fully involved upon arrival. The building was used as a workshop and the owner also kept a flock
of chickens in the rear of the building. The animals were released with only one fatality.
The Hibernia Fire Company was first due with help from 3 other Rockaway Township fire
companies. Mutual aid was also dispatched from neighboring Boonton Township because of
a lack of water in the area.
